  • Hanyang University, established in 1939 as Dong-A Institute of Technology, is a leading industry-academia cooperation-centered university that has spearheaded Korea's industrial development and technological innovation based on its founding philosophy of practical learning. As a cornerstone of national development with a focus on practical industry-academia cooperation, Hanyang University has expanded the paradigm of industry-academia cooperation to encompass research, entrepreneurship, technology commercialization, and regional collaboration through its extensive experience accumulated from LINC, LINC+, and LINC3.0 programs. The university has been leading the ‘regional industry-academia’ cooperation ecosystem through partnerships between companies, local governments, and educational institutions.
  • To achieve this vision, we will lead global industry-academia cooperation based on strategic partnerships with Seoul Metropolitan Government, attract outstanding foreign talent in advanced and future industries, strengthen educational and research collaboration with world-class universities, companies, and research institutes. Furthermore, we plan to create substantial industry-academia cooperation outcomes through the synergy between Hanyang University's strengths and Seoul's strategic industries, while building an innovative industry-academia cooperation platform for sustainable regional development. Moving forward, Hanyang University Institute for RISE will continue to lead the industry-academia-research cooperation platform that connects the region with the world, striving to create future value and contribute to strengthening global university competitiveness and balanced national development in partnership with Seoul Metropolitan Government.
